v0.10.0 Clear position calls and flexible play displays 28 September 2026 · Closed beta
Optional field numbers make position calls easier for players and the game master. Reading sides for tabletop displays, scalable initiative displays, and reliable grids on rotated maps support play at the table.
Position calls and tabletop play
- Enable and configure optional numbers around the selected token; game master and players see matching numbers
- Choose reading sides for the table and confirm a target field without moving the token
- Scale initiative displays in GM and player views to suit the screen
Reliability and usability
- Keep the square grid visible at the top and bottom edges of the player map after a 90° rotation
- More reliable reconnection, fog and wall rendering, patrols, and effects
- Save note-marker titles reliably when confirming immediately; improve keyboard tooltips and compact library views
- Support development through Buy Me a Coffee in settings
v0.9.9 Library, active quests, and clearer token displays 15 September 2026 · Closed beta
Version 0.9.9 brings quest notes and material together in the library. Multiple active quests, complete token names, and a compact player initiative display support live play. Improved previews, private audio previews, and protected backups help with preparation.
Library and quests
- Activate multiple quests at once; control library navigation, active material, and player sharing independently
- Read the quest note as the first library page and edit it directly; completing, archiving, and resuming quests preserve content and support undo
- Keep using collections for hierarchies and assignments; read existing sessions, recaps, and material references in read-only session history
- New session planning and editing of historical sessions are retired. Existing data remains intact; switching between preparation and live play no longer writes automatic session entries
Live play and readability
- Complete names above tokens, HP bars below, and colored token rings; selection raises the token and its displays together
- Accessible figure list for shared values when token stacks or displays obscure badges; private information stays protected
- Player initiative grows and shrinks with participant count; the open GM initiative panel replaces the additional turn ribbon
- German and English language changes also reach an already open player window
Preparation and data preservation
- Private audio previews, meaningful character previews, and more compact handout and reference views
- Edit notes directly and retain drafts when navigating; quest navigation does not change active audio channels
- Protect complete backups from replacement by incomplete archives
- Import warnings with file name, format, actual size, and clear alternatives
v0.9.8 Re-release: library, readability, and recovery 13 September 2026 · Closed beta
Version 0.9.8 adds a complete campaign library with quests, atomic authoring and undo workflows, cross-map copying and group travel, plus confirmed combat and life actions. More resilient player, audio, fog, archive, and recovery paths protect local sessions and campaign data.
Re-release on September 13, 2026
- More useful content previews, direct quest actions, and clearer filters; return navigation preserves search context, scroll position, and focus
- Complete, expandable image previews and readable long titles; coordinated note and token labels plus an accessible minimap at intermediate UI zoom levels
- Reconnect missing data folders and diagnose missing media without deleting original files when cleaning up orphaned registry entries
- Corrected thumbnail paths on macOS and enough space for English advantage/disadvantage labels
- Updated German and English guides for campaign and audio workflows
New
- Organize campaign content through direct quest membership, open it in context, duplicate or reassign it, and delete it with exact undo
- Copy mixed selections of tokens, drawings, GM pins, lights, and note markers atomically to other maps
- Move figure groups between maps or floors without changing identity and control formation, initiative conflicts, and player output
- Use confirmed reversible actions for damage, healing, temporary HP, death saves, critical hits, and statuses
- Use global campaign sources with preserved references and a visible history of current actions
Improved
- Notes, characters, items, encounters, handouts, audio tracks, and soundsets retain drafts, quest targets, media, and identities through failures and undo
- Shared figure details, private notes, focused inspectors, and reserved canvas space keep important actions within reach
- Audio and media flows confirm starts, replacements, and cancellations reliably; large videos load more steadily and errors stay in the correct context
- Player output restores maps, fog, lights, walls, overlays, handouts, initiative, and statuses from the current confirmed state
- Archives preserve quests, global sources, characters, encounters, monster artwork, map content, regional fog, and referenced media
Fixed
- Fog snapshots and regional changes remain atomically ordered and recoverable through the shared undo history
- Initiative, tokens, patrols, character links, and persistent status instances retain identity across editing, deletion, and undo
- Token names, health displays, doors, rooms, effect sources, and initiative values remain readable in dense views
v0.9.7 Workflow and stability update 5 September 2026 · Closed beta
The re-release of version 0.9.7 supplements reviewed soundboard transfer with fixes from the first round of user feedback: stable NPC and hit-point editing, a filterable notes overview, responsive character sheets and dialogs, an expanded SFX emoji picker, and reliable pasting of external clipboard text.
New
- Export the active SFX board directly from preparation as a reviewed RollBerry content package
- Choose received soundboard packages immediately, inspect them completely, and import them specifically into the current campaign
Improved
- Adjust selected slots directly without an extra editing lock; Save deliberately applies changes while Cancel discards the draft
- Assign sounds from the SFX pool to a slot by drag and drop or action without enabling arrangement mode first
- Remove pool entries with confirmation and Undo while stored files and existing slot assignments remain intact
- Larger responsive pool and channel areas, fully draggable pool rows, and 140 categorized emojis with up to two selections per slot
- Edit note tags directly below the content and repeat grid commands while holding G
- Filter campaign and map notes together by scope and category, search them, and sort by change date or title
Fixed
- Rapid grid changes are serialized against the current map state without losing intermediate values
- Pending board renames and slot drafts are saved reliably before import or export
- Missing or mismatched package content is reported precisely, while long preview titles and keyboard and screen-reader states remain stable
- New NPCs remain in their category, while direct multi-digit hit-point edits and step changes save reliably
- Very long map and object names remain readable inside destructive confirmation dialogs
- Text from external applications can be pasted through the native Edit menu into fields and notes with multiple lines and special characters intact
v0.9.6 Feature, performance, and stability update 4 September 2026 · Closed beta
Version 0.9.6 separates display control from live direction, preserves framing and note context per campaign, and restores unsaved drafts. Safe music and SFX pools, a roomier soundset workspace, and steadier synchronization make local VTT sessions more resilient.
New
- New Display area — player window, preview, framing, pause, and blackout stay separate from scenes, audio, and SFX in Live Direction
- Player framing is saved per map and restored after map changes or restarts
- Separate campaign pools for music and SFX with confirmed resolution of existing duplicate assignments
- Video-map audio can be enabled and controlled per map exclusively for the player window
- Create blank or template-based notes directly inside any category or map group without changing the active map
Improved
- Notes prioritize content and quick navigation while infrequent options remain compact and accessible
- Note search, selection, expanded groups, and scroll position persist per campaign, while unsaved drafts survive panel and campaign changes as well as restarts
- Campaign dashboard, encounters, initiative, rooms, handouts, and music and SFX preparation offer clearer actions and additional drag-and-drop paths
- Soundsets provide a larger independently scrolling track pool, clearer channel assignments, and visible app-version information
- Virtualized map lists, small previews, and bounded image caches keep large map collections responsive
Fixed
- Player synchronization uses stable current snapshots without overwriting newer token, fog, or presentation changes
- Late note loads and saves cannot overwrite newer edits or another campaign, and failed saves retain the local draft
- Native audio drops accepted by soundset channels are no longer rejected by the surrounding campaign handler
- Independent GM and player rotation stays geometrically consistent across maps, video, fog, tokens, markers, and saved player framing
v0.9.5 Feature and stability update 29 August 2026 · Closed beta
Version 0.9.5 keeps rooms, fog, drawings, markers, and measurements precisely aligned on rotated maps. Handouts can now be linked directly to tokens, map variant groups remain collapsible, and the map, room, and patrol inspectors are easier to navigate.
