Licences & sources
SRD and content provenance.
Sources and modification notices for the browser catalogues, generators and text references from RollBerry Studios.
The browser content described here is offered at RollBerry Studios. RollBerry VTT is the separately presented local desktop app. The notices below describe the browser data and its sources; they are not a complete inventory of the contents of an app package.
SRD 5.2.1 — official German edition
This work includes material from the System Reference Document 5.2.1 (“SRD 5.2.1”) by Wizards of the Coast LLC, available at https://www.dndbeyond.com/srd. The SRD 5.2.1 is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License, available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode.
Our modifications
The SRD 5.2.1 browser catalogues are based on the official German PDF edition. RollBerry Studios selected material for individual browser tools, extracted it, converted it into structured JSON and JavaScript data, normalised, filtered and cleaned it, and formatted it for browser views, search, tables and compact displays. Records requiring further attention are marked or excluded from publication.
SRD 5.1 — separate legacy dataset
This work includes material taken from the System Reference Document 5.1 (“SRD 5.1”) by Wizards of the Coast LLC and available at https://dnd.wizards.com/resources/systems-reference-document. The SRD 5.1 is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode.
The bilingual monster, animal, spell and equipment catalogues explicitly labelled as SRD 5.1 at RollBerry Studios remain separate from SRD 5.2.1. Their records name the recorded English and German source chain in the licenseSource field. Modifications include selecting and combining these fields, technical normalisation, cleanup, filtering and adaptation for search and table views.
Original generator content and excluded name collections
The editorial generator templates are original RollBerry Studios content and were not extracted from SRD material. Where a browser tool combines the templates with SRD data at runtime, the licence and modification notices above continue to apply to that SRD data.
The art-free MapBerry interface captures used at RollBerry Studios were made with our own test scenes. They are not captures of the RollBerry VTT app. Previous VTT marketing captures are not used on the current VTT product website; its map diagram is explicitly labelled as a diagram.
Three older, unused name collections are excluded from publication because the sources of some fictional proper names are unclear and the collections contain editorial problems. The active name generators do not use these files.
Assets excluded from publication
The former illustrated cantrip card edition is also excluded: some cards omit rule limits, the source notices on the cards are incomplete, and the sources of the illustrations have not been separately documented. The text-based spell selection with printing remains available at RollBerry Studios.
The previous illustrated cheat sheets are excluded from publication because they contain incorrect or misleading rules guidance. The originals are retained internally for revision; text references are available publicly at RollBerry Studios instead.
A reviewed TooManyTokens import, including marketing images derived from it, older character exports and unverified portraits of demo characters and NPCs are not distributed publicly. For the token pack, an MIT LICENSE file and the statement in the pinned README did not establish a sufficiently documented rights chain for the image files and their Monster Manual references.
Previous marketing screenshots using maps from 2-Minute Tabletop also remain excluded. The official licence page identifies CC BY-NC 4.0 for free PWYW content, prohibits maps and assets in commercially offered products, and requires attribution where they appear. No express commercial permission was documented in the repository. The review decisions are retained; files and references must be removed from the public build or replaced with original captures or captures using content licensed for compatible commercial use.
Verifiable record
The machine-readable provenance manifest records source IDs, rules editions, licences, modification notices, local verification hashes and blocked asset groups. The build checks the public copy against the canonical source file. The source files and earlier review decisions recorded there are not an inventory of the images used on the current VTT product website.
No affiliation
RollBerry Studios is not affiliated with, supported, sponsored, authorised or approved by Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Unofficial game aid
RollBerry does not replace official rulebooks. All RollBerry tools and local apps are intended as unofficial aids for pen-and-paper and tabletop roleplaying groups.
Further sources
Further licence and source notices for the browser tools and other projects are available on the RollBerry Studios attribution page.
